Cedar, chain link, metal panel, framed wire, deer fence, commercial perimeters — we’ve built every type on Central and North Vancouver Island for 25 years. Residential lots in town, commercial sites, working farms with multiple acres of livestock containment.
We also take the jobs most fence crews turn down. Boat-in and barge-access jobs, off-grid acreage where the road ends at a gate — we’ve done them. No-power sites where we run our own generator. Remote and island work is not a problem for us. Contact us with the details and we can usually get the job done for you.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Seven questions we get most often. If yours isn’t here, Click here to contact us and we will get you an answer as soon as possible.
What types of fencing does EJE Construction install on Central and North Vancouver Island?
EJE Construction installs cedar, chain link, metal, and wire fencing for residential and commercial properties across Central and North Vancouver Island, including remote and off-grid locations.
Do you offer custom fencing solutions?
Yes. EJE Construction provides custom fencing options tailored to specific client needs. In most cases, a photo of the desired fence design is sufficient to begin planning.
Do you offer a warranty on fence installation?
Yes. EJE Construction offers a warranty on workmanship for all fence installations.
Can you remove old fencing before installing a new one?
Yes. Old fence removal and disposal is available at an additional cost.
Can you handle large commercial fencing projects?
Yes — Island Fencing handles commercial fencing projects including industrial yards, warehouse perimeters, multi-unit residential complexes, municipal sites, and agricultural operations. Common commercial builds include chain-link perimeter with privacy slats, security fencing with barbed wire, agricultural runs over multiple acres, and custom gate systems. We quote residential and commercial projects with an on-site visit to confirm access, terrain, scope, and any bylaw or zoning requirements.
How much does a new fence cost?
Fence cost depends on the material, total length, ground conditions, and number of gates. The most accurate way to price a job is to contact us and have us come out to the site to measure the exact distances and see what terrain challenges, if any, there are. We can then give you an accurate quote.
Do I need a permit to build a fence?
Most Central and North Vancouver Island municipalities let you build a standard residential fence without a permit, but height limits apply and differ between front, side, and rear yards. Check your local municipality’s bylaw before building, or ask us — we work to local height limits as standard.
